14th July to 25th August - Galtuer Gourmet Summit
Experience all the culinary delicacies in the high alpine area. During the Galtuer Gourmet Weeks you will experience the richness of the region’s natural environment. According to the “Indulgence on the mountain”- theme, different events will take place on 6 days of the week.
02. September - 4. Markttag der Genussregion Paznauner Almkäse
Different Tyrolean products are presented and sold at the Dorfplatz in Kappl, with cheese tastings and cooking presentations and demonstrations.
29th September 2012 – The 18th International Cheese Olympics
It’s all about the cheese in Galtuer on September 29th: at the 18th International Cheese Olympics, where the Paznaun Region’s best cheese makers meet. About 100 Alpine Cheese makers come together to choose the Alp’s best cheese.
September 2012 - Almabtrieb (Bringing the Cows down from the Alpine Pastures)
Almabtrieb is an Austrian ceremony held in autumn, when the cows are walked back to the valley after they have spent the summer on the mountain pastures. The Almabtrieb is traditionally celebrated in September in Ischgl and See with a big party. Farmers present their decorated cows at the end of the alpine pasture grazing period.

At the weekly market in Galtuer, Ischgl, Kappl or See, cheese lovers can try regional specialties and remarkable cheese delicacies from the gourmet region of Paznaun. Different products from the gourmet region are presented and sold here. There will also be music at the market stalls across the gourmet region: enjoy traditional music by local bands at the weekly village concerts.
