The Culinary Way of St. James in Paznaun
For the fourth time, the Tyrolean Paznaun Region presents award-winning cuisine in the mountain highlands, this summer. Under the patronage of Eckart Witzigmann and according to the theme "The Culinary Way of St. James" international award-winning chefs are going to prepare a menu with regional meals and products for the Alpine Association huts in Paznaun.
This summer you will be able to experience a unique indulgence combination in the Tyrolean Paznaun. Sustainable tourism, international award-winning chefs, regional products and a rustic alpine experience are combined on the Culinary Way of St. James.
The summer’s highlight starts on Sunday, 08th July 2012. Stefano Ciotti (Vicolo Santa Lucia, Rimini Italy) Peter Gast (Restaurant 't Schulten Hues, Zutphen, Netherlands ), Franky van der Haeghe (Hostellerie St. Nicolas, Elverdinge Belgium) and Karlheinz Hauser Seven Seas im "Süllberg", Hamburg, Germany) present their dishes after a group-hiking to the particular huts, where each of the chefs is cooking. Local hero Martin Sieberer, who participated in the Culinary Way of St. James in 2009, supports the event this year.
The Jamtal hut near Galtür, the Heidelberger hut near Ischgl, the Niederelbe hut near Kappl and the Ascher hut near See are the culinary venues. The hosts themselves will prepare the meals and indulge the guests with new interpretations of the regional specialties. You will be able to get information on the meals and products direct from these star chefs.
All of these culinary creations will be served at the huts during the whole alpine-summer. Enjoy hiking tours in Tyrol with stamping-booklets, the chef’s recipes to take home with you, as well as tasting all the regional produce will be offered during this Culinary Way of St. James, in Paznaun.
